If you're concerned about sex addiction, these warning signs may indicate a problem:
Obsessive patterns: Sexual thoughts and fantasies dominate your day, interfering with work, relationships, and daily life. You spend excessive time planning sexual activities or seeking your next sexual experience.
Compulsive behaviors: Frequent masturbation (multiple times daily), excessive pornography use, or persistent pursuit of sexual encounters through paid services, casual partners, chat rooms, or strip clubs. Behaviors may escalate to include risky activities or substance use.
Loss of control: You continue sexual behaviors despite conflicts with your values, beliefs, or social norms. You can't stop even when facing serious consequences to relationships, health, finances, or career.
Harmful patterns: Engagement in non-consensual scenarios, illegal activities, exhibitionism, voyeurism, or behaviors that harm others.
If multiple signs apply to you, consider consulting a mental health professional or joining a support group like Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA). Recovery is possible with proper support.
If you agree with many of these symptoms, you may benefit from a support group like SAA.
